Real Wedding: Kim & Rashad

I can't help but *gush* about Kim & Rashad. I have the opportunity to work with such wonderful clients, but every now and then, a couple like Kim & Rashad come along and reminds me how much I completely *love* doing what I do. Such a kind-hearted and beautiful couple, I was literally grinning from ear to ear when I watched this same day edit film from (the ever fabulous) McNeal Wedding Films. I was on vacation last week in Mexico and I wasn't able to be there on their big day, so this film captured everything I missed. I can't wait to share all the paper goods from their wedding, but here are a few iPhone snapshots to hold you over. 

Weddings Unveiled Feature

I was so incredibly excited to work with a *very* talented group of Nashville wedding artists a few weeks back! The photo shoot was held at a new venue, Front Porch Farms, and the end result was so stunningly rustic and romantic. So much so, that it caught the attention of one of the premiere bridal magazines of the South, Weddings Unveiled, and was featured last Friday on their blog. I can't wait to share more images of the Sweet Life Designs work from the shoot (invitation, menus, programs, placecards, table numbers, straws), but for now, check out the blog feature for a sneak peek!

I am humbled and honored to be asked to work among such amazing fellow #wed615 vendors. And of course, it was SO MUCH FUN dreaming up some new designs! Look for this very Southern and chic design to be available soon for my SLD clients.

Living a life you LOVE

I had a life changing experience yesterday.

I attended "Spread the Love," a 5 hour intensive workshop about life strategies and making your small business work for you, so you LIVE A LIFE YOU LOVE.  Given by two incredibly successful and respected photographers in the wedding industry, Justin & Mary Marantz, I didn't know what to expect. After all, I was about the only attendee who was there to not grow a photography business; I was there to learn how I can grow another wedding industry-related business, Sweet Life Designs. And by the end of the evening, I never expected I'd walk away knowing I CAN take that leap of faith to do all the things that have been in my head and heart for so long.


My mind is swirling with all the quotes and life lessons. I'm trying to find the right words to sum up all the amazing-ness that occurred in those 5 hours. Here's what I can say:

I want a life UN-ordinary.
I do not want to settle.
I want to be the CAN in my life, because there will always be an abundance of people who tell me I CAN'T.

The road ahead is scary but it is thrilling. I have such passion for what I want to do now, that I have to make what seems like the impossible, possible.
